2006 Out 2007 In
Well another year is about to come to an end and we are planning an even busier 2007. The Training Schedule is prepared for January to March with training offered on every night from Mondays to Thursdays in the weeks of the months. If we fill them the co-ordinators will organise more – so register your interest at your earliest. We have two new trainers on board Elana Chilton and Linda Barnes, who have started their Coaching Course and we want to encourage and support them, so give them a try and let me know how it goes as we need feedback. After the AGM the committee and myself have looked at your requests and comments and hopefully you will find them fulfilled over the coming months. At our Combined Training in January we are introducing British Riding Club Dressage Tests for a change and these will be available to you at entry, just include a SAE or book on-line. February sees the Club having a Dressage only day at Muirmill very kindly organised by Thelma Black with classes sponsored by Irene Young, of Glasgow . The committee are very grateful for this help and you will see the schedule is designed to encourage the novice rider to come out and have a go. The March competition at Rowallan is going to be an Arena Event with British Riding Club Horse Trials Dressage Tests to get you prepared for the teams and Area Qualifiers. Copies of the tests will be available. We are restricting our team entries this year to one team per class, therefore if you wish to participate please let the Team Co-ordinators know. We are returning to the Team selection nights, so watch out for details.
Cross Country/Showjumping Day at Titwood Farm, Kilmaurs will be on the 25th March, 2007 and we have Jane Belding and Sheila Thom doing the training. Horse Trials Team selection Novice/Intermediate/Open will be held at Titwood Farm, Kilmaurs on Thursday 29th March. Please contact Louise McDonald Team Co-ordinator if you are coming and she will allocate times. April 7th sees us trying the Jumpcross as a training day at Greenfields of Avondale, more details available on web-site.
On the social side we have rescheduled the Beach Ride to Sunday 7th January, 2007 at Irvine Beach, Marine Drive carpark but watch the weather report – hopefully it will be OK. Thursday 12th April is National Hunt day at Aintree Racecourse, Liverpool and we are going to organise a day out. The cost of the ticket for entry and seat will be £30 plus we will calculate transport once we know numbers wanting to go and the required bus size. We went to this about 3years ago and had a great day, so if you are interested let me know (Cathy Rawson asap so we can order the tickets ). Friday 13th April we are having a Car Boot Sale to move those collectables on – spring clean the tack room and house and make some money. Tables £10 plus food and drinks available on the evening.
I would like to thank Kara and her team for organising a very successful Combined Training at Rowallan today. It is hard work but very worthwhile when you see the standard of riding continually improving and the quality of horses being presented.
Finally, I would like to thank your Committee for their hard work and dedication to the Riding Club movement over the past year and for their continuing support to me. May you have a Happy Christmas and a Prosperous and healthy New Year. I look forward to meeting more of you 2007.
Cheers
Cathy Rawson
