Beach Ride - December 2004
On a glorious winter day in December the Riding Club had a beach ride at Irvine in place of the Christmas Show that was cancelled due to the venue being unavailable. The ride was open to members and non-members as well as those that don't ride. A respectable number of people turned up to take advantage of the unseasonal weather, some of which went for a quite walk while others had a splash and canter. The drama free morning ended with a hunt style meeting with soup, snacks, mulled wine, and a small raffle. Many thanks to Cathy who had all the munchies ready for our return. The social occasion was all the better for the stunning views of the Isle of Arran and the Ayrshire coastline, not forgetting the mulled wine! More of these open rides will hopefully be organized in the summer using many of the wonderful riding areas in Ayrshire and surrounding areas.
Thanks to Lillias for these pictures:
This was the view of Arran.
