Ayr RC Mailing List & Ayr RC Chat List
We have set up a mailing list that allows members to join and receive the latest news, events and newsletters by email.
And now following requests from members we are bringing a new list that will let you chat to other RC members - and post your views. This is the Ayr RC Chat List !!
It will replace the old (and rather impractical) forum.
Both are open only to Ayr Riding Club members.
So what is the difference?
Mailing List
- We would recommend all Ayr RC members join this list - because it is used only to send you up-to-date news, training opportunities and competitions etc as well as newsletters by email - ensuring you receive them first!
- Receiving newsletters this way allows us to save on postage and copying costs - we hope in the future to offer a discount to members receiving newsletters this way.
- You can not post messages - only receive them.
- Replies to the messages go only to the person who sent them - not the group.
Chat List
- Is completely separate to the Mailing List - so join both!
- Is for the Ayr RC members!
- Members can post messages which go to all members who join (unless you opt not to receive emails), and post replies / opinions to these messages
- Will not be used to send messages from the mailing list - but to allow members to post their views and have a chat!
Both groups will also allow you to look at all the messages online and give the option to leave the group at any time.
Note: if you have opted to receive newsletters by email and then leave the Mailing List group please tell our secretary to make sure you start receiving the messages by post again!
How To Join
The service is hosted by Google Groups - so is completely secure.
To join simply click on the link at the end of this paragraph and have ready your Ayr Riding Club membership number!
The link will take you to a page where you will be able to do one of the following:
- If this is the first group you have joined click "sign in and apply for membership to the group" - you will be asked to supply a few details like your email address and a password.
- If you are already a member of one of the lists you can use your log-in and then request to join the group.

If you are already a member of the groups
You can change your details easily, or view all the messages sent in the past (useful if you delete an email by mistake!) by logging in - use the same links as above.
Another easy to remember way to log in: go to www.google.co.uk and click sign in (at the top right), then click on the groups.
