What to wear? - Competitions - Show Jumping

These are additional rules that apply to Show Jumping:

Rider

  1. Spurs - with necks in excess of 3cms are not to be worn
  2. Show Jumping Shirts are permitted

Horse

  1. Bits
    • Senior competitors may use bitless bridles and Market Harboroughs
  2. Martingales - standing, Irish or running martingales permitted, standing only to the cavesson part of a noseband fitted above the bit. Running martingales must have stops fitted to reins.
  3. Tongue Guards - properly made which are detatched from reins are permitted
  4. Equitation Jumping:
    • only running martingale permitted at penalty of 5 points
    • only snaffle bridles may be used
    • cavesson, flash or drop noseband only
