What to wear? - Competitions - Dressage
These are additional rules that apply to dressage:
Rider
- Spurs - not permitted in Riding Test
- Whips - a whip of any length may be carried at Area competitions, no whips are allowed at the Championships
Horse
- Bits
- Prelim, Novice and Rural Riders International Tests: ordinary snaffle bits only
- Elementary and Medium: ordinary snaffle and double bridles permitted
- Noseband - a flash, cavesson or drop
must be used. With a double bridle a cavesson must be used.
- Brestplates and Neckstraps - brestplates are allowed, neckstraps only at
prelim
- Not Allowed:
- Martingales
- Boots and Bandages - exception of substitute for a conventional shoe
- Bit guards and tongue straps
- fly fringes, gauzes and ear covers during test, except nose gause for
certified 'headshakers'
Note: Anti Fly impregnated browbands and discs are allowed.
